Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Moving Cab ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at moving.cab (the "Site"), request a quote, or communicate with us about moving services. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
Moving Cab, 611 SE Kaiser Ave, Bldg 60, Vancouver, WA 98661. Operating identifiers: MC 1551486 · USDOT 4079187 · HG 071280 · ODOT 051093. Contact for privacy questions: igo@moving.cab.
2. Information we collect
- Contact and account details: name, phone number, email address, and mailing addresses you provide when requesting a quote or booking a move.
- Move and logistics details: origin and destination locations, dates, inventory descriptions, access conditions (stairs, elevators, parking), and related notes needed to prepare estimates and perform services.
- Communications: emails, texts, voicemails, and call logs when you contact us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, general region derived from IP, and Site usage data collected through server logs and essential cookies required to operate the Site (for example session or security-related cookies).
- Payment-related information: when we accept electronic payments, card or bank details are handled by payment service providers; we typically receive confirmation of payment status rather than storing full card numbers on our own servers.
3. How we use information
- To respond to quote requests and schedule estimates and moves.
- To prepare and perform household goods transportation under applicable law and Tariff 15-C documentation (estimates, bills of lading, inventories).
- To communicate about your shipment, billing, and customer support.
- To improve the Site, troubleshoot errors, and protect against fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal, insurance, and regulatory obligations.
4. Google Maps Platform and reviews
When you use address autocomplete or geocoding in our quote flow, the text you type and selected place identifiers may be sent to Google through our server-side API routes ("/api/places/autocomplete" and "/api/geocode") so Google can return suggestions and coordinates. Google's use of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
We may display aggregate Google review ratings and counts on the Site. Those summaries are fetched server-side from Google Places and cached for performance; we do not sell that data.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist operations (hosting, email/SMS delivery, payment processing, IT support), subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Maps and communications platforms such as Google when you use location features as described above.
- Professional advisers, insurers, and authorities when required for claims, safety, or legal compliance.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
6. Retention
We retain move records, estimates, bills of lading, and related correspondence for as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and insurance retention requirements—typically several years for transportation records. Server logs are retained for a shorter operational period unless security investigation requires longer storage.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords where accounts exist and to avoid sending payment card details by unsecured email.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to opt out of certain disclosures (for example under U.S. state privacy laws). To exercise these rights, email igo@moving.cab. We will verify reasonable requests as required by law. You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages; transactional messages about active moves may continue where necessary.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it where required.
10. International visitors
We operate in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. where privacy laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice as appropriate.
