Terms of Service

Last updated: January 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Moving Cab website and mobile experiences (collectively, the "Site") and set expectations when you book or receive household goods moving services from Moving Cab ("we," "us," or "Moving Cab"). By using the Site or signing a written estimate or bill of lading with us, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Carrier information

Moving Cab operates as a permitted Washington household goods carrier. Our operating identifiers are MC 1551486, USDOT 4079187, HG 071280, and ODOT 051093. Office: 611 SE Kaiser Ave, Bldg 60, Vancouver, WA 98661. General inquiries: igo@moving.cab.

2. Tariff and contract documents

Interstate and intrastate household goods moves we perform in Washington are priced and regulated under the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) Tariff 15-C, effective January 1, 2026 ("Tariff 15-C"), as applicable to your shipment. Your move is also governed by the written estimate you sign, the bill of lading, any order for service, and Tariff 15-C. If there is a conflict between marketing copy on the Site and those signed documents, the signed documents and tariff control.

3. Estimates, pricing, and payment

Before dispatch we provide a written binding or non-binding estimate listing crew size, time or weight/mileage basis, and accessorial charges. Tariff Item 80 governs estimate adjustments: on a binding estimate, we may not charge more than the binding amount. On a non-binding estimate, you are required to pay at delivery no more than 110% of the original estimate; any balance is due on terms of at least 30 days; we may not collect more than 125% of the original non-binding estimate without a signed supplemental estimate.

Local (hourly) moves within 55 miles and long-distance (mileage- and weight-rated) moves over 55 miles follow the rate structures described in Tariff 15-C (including Sections 2 and 3 and Items such as 105, 200, and 230). Dollar maximums shown on the Site or in marketing materials are tariff ceilings; your actual charges come from the signed estimate and documented services performed.

4. Valuation, liability, and claims

Under Tariff 15-C, Item 90, we offer three valuation (loss and damage protection) tiers. You select one on the written estimate and bill of lading before loading begins. If you do not select an option, Replacement Cost Coverage with a deductible may apply as the tariff default, with the associated charge. High-value, antique, and specialty items may require separate inventories or third-party coverage as described in your estimate.

Written claims for loss or damage must be filed within nine months of delivery, or within nine months after a reasonable time for delivery has elapsed for non-delivery, as provided under Tariff 15-C. Nothing on the Site limits any rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable law.

5. Items we may refuse or limit

Certain hazardous, high-risk, or irreplaceable items cannot be transported on our trucks or are excluded from carrier liability under Tariff 15-C, Item 90 and the bill of lading (for example explosives, flammables, currency and negotiables, jewelry and precious metals unless properly declared, temperature-controlled goods, pets, and pressboard furniture as described in the tariff). You are responsible for disclosing specialty items during booking. If prohibited goods are discovered at load, we may refuse to move them until they are removed.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate addresses, access information (stairs, elevators, long-carry paths), and a safe working environment for our crew. Customer-packed cartons must be properly packed and labeled per Tariff Item 65; liability for internal damage to customer-packed goods may be limited unless negligence in handling is shown. You are responsible for securing building permissions, elevator reservations, and loading dock times when required.

7. Scheduling, cancellation, and delays

Move dates are confirmed in writing. If you need to reschedule or cancel, contact us as soon as possible. Reasonable notice helps us redeploy crews. Where permitted by Tariff 15-C and your signed documents, forfeited deposits, minimum-time charges, or administrative fees may apply to late cancellations or same-day changes. Weather, traffic, and events outside our reasonable control may delay service; we will communicate changes promptly.

8. Use of the Site and quote tools

The Site, online quote request, and FAQ summarize how we work. They are for general information only and do not form a contract until you receive and sign a written estimate and we accept your order. You may not use the Site to violate law, scrape or overload our systems, reverse engineer our software, or misrepresent your identity.

9. Intellectual property

Moving Cab names, logos, text, images, and Site design are owned by Moving Cab or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without prior written permission except for personal, non-commercial reference or as allowed by law.

10. Disclaimer and limitation for the Site

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT REGARDING THE SITE. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR SITE-RELATED CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF USD $100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US SPECIFICALLY FOR OPTIONAL PAID DIGITAL SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY).

Moving services themselves remain subject to the bill of lading, Tariff 15-C, and applicable transportation law—not the Site disclaimer above.

11. Governing law and disputes

For Site-related disputes, the laws of the State of Washington apply, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of state or federal courts located in Clark County, Washington, except where consumer protection law requires otherwise. Transportation disputes may be subject to federal or UTC procedures as applicable.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes to how we contract moves will be reflected in new estimates and tariff notices as required by law.
